"Hurricane" by Gail Leiberman

Hurricanes hitting Gulf Coast: bad. Hurricanes hitting Moonlight Mahjong: good.

"Holey" by Sorako-chan

Be warned: at 414 tiles, this one is no lightweight. In some ways I hesitate to post it, because it takes a long time to shuffle, takes a long time to play, and pushes the edge of what Moonlight Mahjong can currently handle in terms of size. But I have to post it, because Sorako-chan has contributed one of my favorite layouts so far. The detail is inside the deceptively simple-looking box.

"Spiral Stair" by Midnight Martian

"Spiral Stair" is an improved version of the original Spiral Stairway layout, which was later renamed "Stairway Wide" and is still in the game, along with "Stairway Bold". I think this one is properly vertigo-inducing.

(As an aside: in the upcoming version 1.1.1 of Moonlight Mahjong, "Stairway Wide" and "Stairway Bold" have been rotated by 180ยบ to make them more playable. So it's sort of an all-around Renaissance of spiral stairs.)

A lovely layout...  seems familiar, somehow.

Something a little different from the usual 'solid' layout...

"Lil Liz" by Lil Liz

Not just an advertisement for "Liz"; this is also a nice layout!

"Kay 1" by Kay

"Hidden Gems" by Skeptic.ch

This is a good layout for those who like hunting for "hidden" tiles. There are a few tiles at the bottom that are difficult to see, and more tiles are exposed on the inside as the outer "case" is taken away. Watch this one carefully as the tiles are initially dropped.

"Kiss" is both amusing and a good layout, fitting well on the iPhone screen in landscape orientation.

"Castle 1" by Midnight Martian

Of my own layouts, Castle 1 is one of my new favorites. It's a good example of the kind of layout that can only be played properly in 3D, but it doesn't require much panning around to play. It's whimsical and engages the imagination, but it's compact enough to fit well on the iPhone's screen.

"Castle 2" by Midnight Martian

Castle 2 is a taller, narrower version of Castle 1. It's also more difficult than Castle 1 - it's probably one of the more challening layouts (at least judging by my own difficulty solving it).
